Journaling: United Township #7 Crossroads School (photo taken in the 1980s) was home to Kenneth, Carol, & Bruce, as well as their mother and her 4 siblings years before.
Pictured with Carol and Bruce are Ruth, a cousin, and Myron, the boy who once kissed Carol on the mouth behind the schoolhouse! Carol doesn’t remember if she liked it or if she told him to get lost.

History Repeats Itself (again)

Remember THIS? Well smile, b/c history just repeated itself again! DH acquired all the 2006 images from his parents' digital files well after I scrapbooked that year, so I made a list of the ones I wanted to print, but never scrapbooked any of them. Jeff was looking through them the other day and asked me if I'd ever seen this one. He noticed Michael's smile looked just like Lucy's and Grandpa Borg's, so of course I had to make Michael his own scrapbook page:) Hm, now wonder if we can find one of Christopher smiling that way? Check out the journaling on Michael's page, b/c I can see a resemblance around the chin and ears too.

Digi in Deep (Another Jessica Sprague adventure)

Part of the reason I've neglected my blog lately is that I'm in another Jessica Sprague digital online class! And loving it again, of course! Here's what I've done so far this session:

My favorite technique from this layout was the compound mask we created using the PS drawing tools (the circles and round blue mat). Our challenge layout for week 1 was to create our own compound mask design and repeat some of the other techniques from the week 1 layout. Here's what I created:

Journaling: The Chester families used to have dinner (the noon meal) together once a month after church, as well as on major holidays and Grandma & Grandpa’s birthdays. For one birthday they had waffles, and the other, oyster soup and chili. Note the children folding their hands “to look pretty” --Grandma Cynthia’s idea. The kids would also tilt their heads and often stick out their tongues too, Carol remembers. I’m guessing that wasn’t the desired result...

Family Heritage Photos

My favorite local photofinisher, http://www.waldenphoto.com/ acquired a drum scanner this summer and began offering bulk scanning services at quite reasonable rates. I collected a motherlode of all the family photos I could find, from both Jeff's and my sides of the family. In all, they scanned close to 1800 photos for me! I finally have them mostly organized and even labeled (with the exception of Jeff's family), and the next project is to burn DVDs or CDs for any members of our family who want them.

The photo is from Mom's side of the family. It feels good to be working on heritage pages again...it is one of my specialties! And the best part was, Walden scanned all 1800 pictures in a teeny tiny fraction of the time I could have:)
